The Manx Northern Railway. It opened in 1879. It closed between 1965 and 1968. St John's to Ramsay. St John's, Peel Road, St Germains, Kirk Michael, Ballaugh, Selby Glen, Selby Bridge, Lezayre and Ramsay. After several years of disappointment. The townsfolk and businessmen of Ramsay in the Isle of Man finally got their own railway in 1879. Its meandering route involved the construction of 2 viaducts and an exposed section above the islands rugged west coast. Run down and neglected. The railway closed in 1965 only to be reopened for the summers of 1967 and 1968 after which it closed completely. Since then much of its route has been reopened as a footpath.
