This Steam Loco is a Fowler 2-6-4 Tank No. 42394.
Station Pilot at Leeds City Station in 1963 and stansing at the platform side is a Fowler 2-6-4 tank engine No. 42394. The engine was built at Derby Works in June 1933 and withdrawn from 55A Holbeck on 4th January 1966 one of the last 2 of the class to be withdrawn and cut up at Drapers, Neptune Street Goods Yard 4 months later. No members of this large class were preserved. However. There are plans for a new one to be built in the coming years by the LMS Patriot Class on completion of the new unknown warrior.
