A Class 86. No. 86237 Sir Charles Halle Bo Bo 3600 hp. The Class 86 is one of the star success stories of the Modernisation plan. Others were modified to become purely freight locomotives. Some have even been exported to work in Eastern Europe while 14 remain in service with Freightliner. No. 86237 Sir Charles Halle entered into traffic December 1965. Its name reflects the link with places and people associated with the West Coast Route. Following the completion of the electrification to Norwich. The locomotive was aptly renamed the University of East Anglia. Seen at London Euston in October 1986. The locomotive was eventually withdrawn in 2004 after over 38 years of service.
