The Foxdale Branch. It opened in 1886. It closed in 1943. St John's to Foxdale. St John's, Waterfall Halt and Foxdale. Built to serve lead mines. The 2 and a half mile narrow gauge railway from St John's to Foxdale opened in 1886. But son fell on hard times when the mining ceased. The minimal passenger service ended in 1943 and the line closed completely in 1960. Since then. This steeply graded route has been reopened as a footpath.
