Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is a Standard Class 3 2-6-2T No. 82031. Barmouth Station looking down on Standard Class 3 2-6-2T No. 82031 in 1964 seen here with a short local train. This riddle's designed engine was built at Swindon and allocated to Barry in December 1954. It was withdrawn from Patricroft in December 1966 and scrapped at Cashmores of Newport in June the following year. At the end of 1966. 4 of the class including 82031 were reallocated from Wales to Manchesters Patricroft shed. The intention was to use them on local suburban passenger workings. But as it turned out. They were not required. They remained there until 1968 when the shed closed. One was offered for sale at £1,500. But there were no offers and so they all went for scrap.
