A Class 387/2 Electrostar No. 387208 25KV 750 Volts DC. The Class 387 was introduced in 2014 with the Class 387/2 specifically designed for the Gatwick Express Service. Designed for one man operation. They have been the centre of a protracted and acrimonious dispute over the safety of OMO operation on 12 car trains. This has seen the unhappy combination of union bloody mindedness and managerial and political incompetence at its worst.
