Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is an 8F No. 48451. This light engine waiting for the signal at Winwick Quay Yard north of Warrington in 1963 is one of the true workhorses of the days when steam ruled the rails. No. 48451 was built at Swindon Works in September 1944 for the LMS nor the war department like some of its classmates. The locomotives of this massive class of Stanier Locomotives which if I remember rightly we're nicknamed Consuls we're the backbone of heavy freight duties. This one was withdrawn from Rose Grove on 4th May 1968.
