Electric locomotive VL10-884 with a cargo compartment on the Mga - Nazia section. Electric locomotive VL10, a Soviet two-section DC electric locomotive, designed for driving conventional freight trains on sections equipped with a DC contact network with a voltage of 3KV. The electric locomotive replaced the already outdated VL8 electric locomotive, both structurally and externally. Electric locomotives of this type were built jointly by the Novocherkassk and Tblilis electric locomotive plants. Subsequently, such modifications appeared as: VL10U with increased adhesion weight, VL10K (Regular VL10, which underwent modernization of cabins and equipment at the Chelyabinsk Electric Locomotive Repair Plant), VL11, VL11M,VL11K (Modernized VL11 at the Ural Electric Locomotive Plant), VL11.8 and many of its modifications up to VL11M6 with a fundamentally new cabin (Built only at the Tbilisi plant until 2015). The basic version of VL10 was built until 1977, and VL10U was built until 2005. The electric locomotive has 4 axles for each section and each has an individual traction motor. VL10 can operate exclusively in a 2-section version, or with double traction; for this, another locomotive crew will be required in the 2nd electric locomotive. VL11 - modification of VL10 already with work in 3 or more sections without the use of additional locomotive crews. Electric locomotives of these series are operated in countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. #trainspotting #train #electric #NEVZ #TEVZ #OKT #RZD #VL10
