Proper Cumbrian weather as Direct Rail Services 68025 emerges from the mist hanging over Appleby station this afternoon whilst working the 3J11 Carlisle Kingmoor to Carlisle Kingmoor RHTT circuit around the North-West of England. Classmate 68024 was on the rear. This pair were previously allocated to Scarborough depot whilst on lease to Transpennine Express to work their Nova 3 services which were withdrawn in December 2023 and replaced by the class 185 DMUs alongside the class 802 'bi-mode' trainsets. Upon their return to DRS, 68025 has spent a reasonable amount of time either at Crewe Gresty Bridge or Kingmoor depot and has only returned to full operations this Autumn-albeit without its name "Superb". 68024 has suffered very much the same fate including a brief spell at Long Marston storage site and the loco has lost its name- "Centaur". #trainspotting #lineside #station #train #diesel #DirectRailServices #DRS #Class68 #68024 #68025
