Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is a B1 4-6-0 No. 61255. This Thompson designed B1 was built just before nationalisation in November 1947 at the North British Engineering Company in Glasgow. It is seen here on the Doncaster Turntable in May 1963 as it provides the power to enable it to turn. It gives the crewman a chance to have a quiet cigarette. It was withdrawn from Hull Dairycoates on 24th June 1967 and scrapped 2 months later at Garnham, Harris & Elton in Chesterfield.
