Ukrail Spotting News and Headlines
UKRail News and Headlines Edition #1 Hello! Welcome to the first edition of UKRNH. In this edition we will be looking at some general information on the latest railway news. This will include the turbulent start for the brand new train operating company 'Lumo', who are said to introduce new, fast and affordable journeys from the capital to Edinburgh. Let's start with that. The first northbound passenger service aboard the new low-cost rail link set off from London for Edinburgh 3 minutes behind and with three upset passengers left at King’s Cross station. The problem appeared to involve the reservation system and seating allocations. This turbulent start is set to be fixed however. All tickets until December 1st have sold out. Let's move on to merseyrail! In October 1971, merseyrail first went into service on the Wirral line, closely followed by the Northern line. Branding went all over the network and it quickly took off. 50 years later, we are now waiting for the new class 777s to enter service. Also, The LCR is set to receive a historic £700m cash injection that could expand the Merseyrail network. Chancellor Rishi Sunak is to fund a multi-billion overhaul of local transport in his budget on Wednesday including £710m for the Liverpool City Region. Expansion could include a fleet extension for 20 battery units. We could see Merseyrail as far as the new Headbolt Lane, Skelmersdale and maybe even Wrexham. This would be beneficial for the travelling public and commuters. In other news, the class 69 has entered revenue earning service for GBRF. GBRF have said that the class 69 is the number one locomotive for freight and will be the backbone of GBRF services in the South. The Transport For Wales class 230s have yet again been delayed due to some technical errors and the fire in May this year (2021). The new expected service date is May 2022. This is almost a year after the expected first date. This section is based on Train Sim World 2. The Rivet Games, West Cornwall route, has been delayed! This is due to some last minute problems with the final release version. A new date is yet to be announced. This route is a key part of the UK rail network. Stretching from the seaside town of St Ives, to the busy mainline towns of Truro and Penzance. This route is to be loved by train enthusiasts across the country. This route will well and truly immerse everyone. Train Sim World has also see the release of the 1938 stock for the Bakerloo line. This vintage unit was once the backbone of deep level London Underground travel. These hard workers saw service on the Isle of White as-well. The last operation of these units was in January 2021. Now, TSW2 has brought them back with a fully immersive experience on these gorgeous units. That’s all for this edition!
