A recent addition to the line-up at Carlisle is the Tees Dock to New Biggin gypsum trains. This service has worked south via York, Leeds and the S&C for many ears however after a change of hands from DB Cargo to Freightliner the train has been rerouted via the Tyne Valley line to Kingmoor Yard where the loco has to run round before heading back south down the S&C to the gypsum works at New Biggin. On Saturday 17th November 2024, 66546 passes back through the station at Carlisle with the empties having ran round at Kingmoor.
