Recently I explored the route from Kesteren to Rhenen in the Netherlands. There used to be a railway between the two places, until the bridge was bombed in WW2. A new bridge was built after the war, but they deemed a new railway bridge unnecessary. So the new bridge became a road bridge. Kesteren and Rhenen are both served by trains on the reaming lines, but the connection between the two has been lost to history. In Kesteren you can clearly see 2 beautiful station buildings on my photos. The two lines, built by different companies, used to have there own station building. One of the buildings was partially destroyed by a fire in 1963.
