Arcade & Attica No. 18 as it sat this week, awaiting its first steam test. Word from management was that the locomotive was steamed June 11th and 12th, though they ran into minor setbacks. No. 18 is (as most recently stated) slated to return to passenger service in late July. This 1920 built Alco 2-8-O has been an icon on the railroad since 1962 when it was purchased from the Boyne City railroad to pull passenger excursions, providing additional tourist income to both the railroad itself and the town of Arcade, NY. No. 18 has been down since 2017 and has undergone the most extensive rebuild/overhaul it ever has. Things that still have to be affixed before public running - Dynamo, Headlamp, pilot/cowcatcher, and presumably a fresh coat of paint.
