I have "ties" with both the wonderful APT-E & APT-P trains (as Kit Spackman might say):

My father (Hawker Siddeley Dynamics) designed some of E's Tilt System electronics, early 1970's.

Late 70's / early 80's, I travelled on a Euston - Preston test run for BR Technical in the P version.

Sadly, British Government myopia & BR management errors killed it.

China's Hornby, however, are making models of it again. Alas, only the filthy rich can afford them!
