Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is an A2/3 4-6-2 No. 60522 Straight Deal. Here we are in the erecting shops at Darlington Works on 3rd October 1964. No 60522 was built at Doncaster in 1947 just before nationalisation withdrawn in June 1965 and cut up at Motherwell Machinery and Scrap. Apart from the class leader which was named after the designer Edward Thompson. All were named after racehorses. There were just 15 in the class as the next 15 were redesigned by Thompsons replacement Arthur Peppercorn and became Standard A2 Class.
