Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive and Diesel Locomotive.
This Steam Loco and Diesel Loco are Hughes Fowler Crab 2-6-0 No. 42817 and new Class 24 Sulzer Bo Bo Type 2 No. D5137.
In the shed at Longsight MPD in Manchester during 1961 and we see a Hughes Fowler Crab and a newly delivered Type 2 Bo Bo Class 24 Diesel. The crab was built at Horwich Works in July 1929 withdrawn from Stockport Edgeley in April 1965 and scrapped at the Central Wagon Company in Ince in Wigan 6 months later. The Diesel was built at BR Derby during October 1960 received the TOPS number 24137 and was withdrawn in July 1976. Then scrapped at BREL Doncaster in October 1978.
