Part 2 of my exploration of the old route from Kesteren to Rhenen. Right next to Kesteren station, I was excited to unexpectedly find a piece of old track that I seems to have been part of the northbound curve of the railway. Later research told me that there was a goods track a little to the west of the original line that served a company here until 2004. Probably these are the remnants of that goods track. Now however, there's only a buffer at one end and at the other side it ends in a bush of brambles, so it's not connected to anything anymore. But I could visually follow the way the passenger line could have connected to the still existing railway and where it would have gone on in the other direction. #photo #station #disused #abandoned #lineside #netherlands
