Here's a story about these Steam Locomotives.
These Steam Locos are 2 Black 5s Nos 44871 & 44894.
It is 4th August 1968 and Nos 44871 & 44894 are on 1Z78 near Blackburn with the Manchester Victoria to Stockport leg of the Stephenson Locomotive Society Midland Area. Farewell to Steam Railtour No 1 which started in Birmingham. No 44894 was built at Crewe Works in September 1945. It was withdrawn from Carnforth on 31st August 1968 and scrapped in May 1949 at Drapers Neptune Street Goods Yard in Hull. More on No 44871 later.
