The midday stopping train from Edinburgh Waverley to Carlisle arrives at Newcastleton behind St Margaret's grimy ex LNER Class A3 No. 60057 Ormonde on 8th July 1961. The station was the site of a famous sit in on the night of 5/6 January 1969 when protesters temporarily blocked the final train.
