Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is a Black 5 4-6-0 No. 45312. Open day at Corkerhill MPD in 1964 with a view of a Black 5 Locomotive in an ex works condition. It looks even better when you notice the other engines in that line are not quite as well turned out. This Stanier Engine is an example of the superb class that it belongs to. It was built during February 1937 at Armstrong Whitworth for the LMS and taken into British Rail on nationalisation. The reason for its condition is that it had just enjoyed the ministrations of Cowlairs Works from where it was released in April 1964. It was withdrawn from Bolton in June 1968 and was cut up at Cohens of Kettering in February 1969.
