The last day of steam operations on the Isle of Wight Railways complete with commemorative wreath. A Class 02 0-4-4T No.17 formerly named Seaview heads the 10:12am train from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin at Ryde Esplanade Station on 31st December 1966. The line to Shanklin was then closed while third rail electrification was installed reopening with an ancient ex London Underground Stock in March 1968.
