A former PKP EU43 Claas electric, running since 2003 for Lokomotions - Rail Traction Company is seen leading a heavy intermodal train downgrade towards Vipiteno, with the trains journey starting at the border station in Brennero 🇦🇹🇮🇹 The EU43 class built for the PKP in 1996-2003 by Adtranz in their Wrocław based plant was intended to run fast express trains and heavy freights throughout the country. Lack of financial resources and failure to obtain a leasor from the PKP' side resulted in the withdrawal of the order. In January 2001, they were sold by the manufacturer to the Italian Rail Traction Company. All examples of this class are still active today in the RTC fleet. Maybe it's a good thing that these locos were sold to Italy 🇮🇹 They are very nicely maintained and easily available in case of a power shortage.
