The NS 1100 series was produced by Alsthom in Belfort and based on the SNCF-loc BB 8001 and BB 8100. The locs 1101 to 1150 were delivered in a turquoise color. The loc was unpopular with NS drivers because of its bouncy ride and nonadjustable driver seat, making it hard for anyone taller than 170 cm to sit comfortably.
