The Swiss Valley Cycle Route. Opened in 1883. Closed with no passenger service. LIanelli to Cross Hands. LIanelli, Felin Foel, Horeb, Cynheidre, Tumble and Cross Hands. Opened in 1803. The LIanelly & Mynydd Mawr Railway was one of the earliest publicly authorised railways in Britain. After serving numerous collieries in the hills above LIanelli. It had fallen into disuse by the 1840s. But was reborn 40 years later as a standard gauge line with part of it remaining in operation until 1989. Since closure almost the entire length of the lines trackbed has been reopened as The Swiss Valley Cycle Route.
