A BR Standard Class 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80116 heads across Staithes Viaduct with the 11:20am from Scarborough to Middlesbrough train on the last day of services north of Whitby 3rd May 1958. A 20mph speed restriction was in force over the viaduct due to the high winds experienced along this stretch of coastline. The viaduct was demolished in 1960.
