37099 “Merl Evans 1947-2016” in Colas Rail Freight livery and 37025 “Inverness TMD” in British Rail Large Logo livery have spent the last 3 days covering most of Network Rail’s Wessex Region as part of one of Network Rail’s Measurement Trains. - Photo 1, 2 and 3: 6/7/20 18:16 147I Derby R.T.C. to Eastleigh Arlington - Photo 4 and 5: 7/7/20 19:13 172I Eastleigh Arlington to Eastleigh Arlington - Photo 6 and 7: 7/7/20 20:51 172I in Winchester’s Baltic Siding having abandoned the rest of its trip to Woking and back - Photo 8: 7/7/20 20:10 172I returning to Eastleigh Arlington, having waited in Winchester’s Baltic Siding until their scheduled return time - Photo 9 and 10: 8/7/20 12:21 010A heading from Eastleigh Arlington to Nottingham Eastcroft, 37025 under full power while 37099 is strangely quiet. All photos are from the Winchester area. The measurement train continued to run on 8/7/20 with GBRf’s 73965 and 73961 “Alison” taking over. My guess is that 37099 developed a fault and could no longer operate the measurement train, hence the trip to Nottingham Eastcroft maintenance depot. Please comment if you know any more about what happened over the last 2 days as I am interested to know. #37025 #37099 #photo #lineside
