Even the new Diesels required assistance over the South Devon Banks. Here's a Newton Abbot based Castle Class 4-6-0 No. 4098 Kidwelly Castle pilots NBL Warship Class 42 Diesel Hydraulic D602 Bulldog into Brent Station with the 06:25am from Penzance to London Paddington train on 5th August 1960. Brent was also the station for the 12 and a half mile Kingsbridge Branch which closed in 1963.
