Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is a an A3 Class 4-6-2 No. 60080 Dick Turpin. A rather scruffy Gresley designed A3 locomotive awaits departure at Edinburgh Waverley in 1962. It was built for the LNER at the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow going into service on 3rd November 1924. On 23rd October 1925. It spent 4 days at Gateshead Works where it received a light service and was named Dick Turpin. In 1942. It was rebuilt from an A1 and in 1961. The German type smoke deflectors were fitted. It was withdrawn from Gateshead in October 1964 and scrapped at Drapers, Neptune Street Goods Yard on 31st December 1964.
