Built only a year or two after "The Great War", Alco #62624 was built by the American Locomotive Works per the specs of the country of Cuba, destined to work a sugar mill. However, theae plans never came through and the engine sat at the factory alongside a few other similar-spec locos, until being sold off to the Charcoal Iron Company of Michigann, USA. From there, it appears to have been sold to a Newberry Chemical and Lumber, and then subsequently to the Boyne City Railroad, which is thought to have been the anchor railroad of the previous two mentioned companies. From Boyne City, it was purchased by the Arcade & Attica Railroad for tourist trains in 1962. It's been in Arcade 62 years this year! #trainspotting #train #steam #alco #arcadeandattica #usa
