Delays on the electrification and delivery of new trains on the Lichfield to Redditch cross city line meant reliance on clapped out combinations of first generation DMUs and cascades from the London area. Still in NSE Livery. But reduced to 3 coaches No. 308136 waits at Longbridge before returning to Lichfield in September 1993. Even worse. No. 308158 sports the West Yorkshire Livery as it arrives at Barnt Green on a Lichfield to Redditch service in November 1994.
