My favorite train story (so far): The Horse in Loch nan Uamh Viaduct. What's your favorite? Early 1900, whilst 'Concrete Bob' McAlpine was constructing the West Highland Railway Line and the viaducts that carry it, one of his horses supposedly fell down inside a concrete pier, dragging a cart with it. After two seperate investigations (one in 1997, which turned out nothing and one in 2001) and by using state of the art machinery, the remains of a horse could be seen! -- picture by Stuart Wilding, CC BY-SA 2.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=36281094 #trainspotting #train #steam #Jacobite #history #viaduct
