The Wye Valley Walk. Opened between 1817 and 1876. Closed in 1959. Chepstow to Ross On Wye. Chepstow, Tidenham, Netherhope Halt, Tintern, St Briavels, Whitebrook Halt, Redbrook, Monmouth Troy, Monmouth May Hill, Symonds Yat, Lydbrook Junction, Kerne Bridge and Ross On Wye. Opening between 1873 and 1876. The 2 separate railways along the picturesque Wye Valley between Chepstow and Ross On Wye met at Monmouth Troy Station. Although there were never any through services. Both Lines were operated from opening by the Great Western Railway. Both passenger and goods traffic went into decline after The Second World War and both routes were closed to passengers in 1959. Since closure. Several Sections have been reopened as footpaths and the section from Monmouth to Symonds Yat is also a cycle path.
