The Great Central was a useful through route for cross country inter regional trains often bringing foreign locos that had strayed far from their territory. Here's a begrimed ex GWR Grange Class 4-6-0 No. 6844 Penhydd Grange is seen at Leicester Central at the head of a train from Banbury and Oxford on 6th August 1955.
