Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is a Black 5 4-6-0 No.45081. A Black 5 here with a self weighing tender heads north through Warrington Bank Quay Station in 1964. The self weighing tender is quite an unusual feature. Basically. It was a standard type tender with a sort of hi ab contraption on the rear to weigh the coal going into the tender. It was mainly fitted to Black 5s. But also other classes. This engine was built at the Vulcan Foundry in March 1935 and withdrawn from Carlisle Upperby in October 1965 being scrapped at Campbells of Airdrie in March 1966.
