Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is a Britannia Pacific 4-6-2 No. 70022 Tornado. A Britannia Class Pacific in rather good condition is seen northbound at Moore in 1964. No 70022 has a parcel train. The Riddles designed engine was built at Crewe Works in August 1951. Its last shed was Carlisle Kingmoor from where it was withdrawn on 23rd December 1967 and cut up 3 months later at TW Ward of Inverkeithing. The bricked up tunnel that can be seen on the left of the photograph was the Acton Grange Railway Tunnel. It was 108 Yards Long and on the line from Warrington Bank Quay to Moore. It was opened in 1888 and closed in 1893 when the line was deviated.
