A refurbished set of EMUS originally built for the LMS to a 1938 design now for the Merseyrail and Wirral Line are seen at Moore Lane towards Chester circa 1964. The steam engine hauling the next generation of railway traction is Hughes Fowler Crab No. 42793. The locomotive was built at Horwich Works in October 1927. Its last shed was Stockport Edgeley in 1964 from where it was withdrawn and scrapped at Wards of Broughton Lane in Sheffield in March 1965.
